Dan Steers (AUS)
Horsemanship and Entertainment
Dan Steers grew up in Western Australia and was first introduced to horses in his early teens where he developed his horsemanship and farrier skills at aged 15 working for Master Farrier and Horseman Pete Webber. Dan then spent some time training and breaking horses with Corry Holden where he was first recognised for his skills in the show ring winning a number of cutting events.
Next up for Dan was some time with a large Thoroughbred and Australian Stock Horse stud where he learnt all aspects of breeding, training, showing and yearling preparation.
In 2008 Dan joined his good friend Dan James at ElCaballo Spanish Horse centre to perform as the Dan & Dan show where he refined his showmanship and training skills. The next year Double Dan Horsemanship was born.
Those attending Dan’s clinics at Equidays will be entertained and educated on Dan’s unique brand of Australian horsemanship learning about the art of equine communication and listening to your horse without correction.
This year Dan will also be sharing his entertainment expertise with the Equidays Top Talent finalists acting as their mentor helping them polish their performances for the final competition. After several years being part of Equidays Top Talent, Dan is excited to lend a hand and help develop the four finalist’s acts ready to show their stuff during the Equitainment Extravaganza Nightshow.
