Amanda Wilson (NZ)
Amanda Wilson has been around horses her whole life and has competed in show jumping to Grand Prix and Olympic Cup level for several years as well as working with young riders and training horses up grades.
Along with her sisters Kelly and Vicky, Amanda is a prominent figure on the international equestrian scene for horsemanship and the taming of wild horses across the globe including the New Zealand Kaimanawas, the Australian Brumbies and the American Mustangs.
Amanda’s famed pintos have helped position her as one of New Zealand’s most promising show jumping riders. Showtym Viking first brought Amanda into the public eye by winning the 2010 Show Jumping Pony of the Year, before going on to win many Young Rider and Grand Prix classes to 1.50m.
More recently, Amanda has produced Showtym Cassanova to success at Grand Prix, Super League and World Cup level. The duo consistently achieved wins and placings at the highest level, including top finishes in the New Zealand Olympic Cup, one of the most prestigious show jumping classes in Australasia.
Amanda is passionate about young horses, and she has earned a reputation for producing many top young horses on the show jumping circuit. She has experience starting all kinds of horses and is particularly focused on ensuring that the horse is mentally ready for the work she is asking of them, by creating an environment of trust and understanding.
At Equidays, Amanda will be presenting a sports psychology and a coaching session on correct riding as well as meet and greets with her sisters and competing in the Grand Prix.
