Travis Morgan
Travis Morgan is a New Zealander show jumping and dressage rider who presents the jumper horses at the Vechta auctions.
Travis will be holding two clinics at Equidays:
- Suppleness and transitions for younger dressage horses
- Obedience and gymnastics training for show jumping
Travis Morgan has successfully trained and competed in New Zealand, the USA and Europe. Travis lived in Germany for many years where he trained and competed for Holger Hetzel’s Stable wih Sport horses, Frank Sloothaak’s Stable with Jumping horses and Christian Aahlmann’s Stable with youngstock and experienced horses.
In 1998 the goal of establishing his own barn and business was fulfilled in Vechta/Oldenburg.
For the first two years he rode for the Oldenburg Society, training the auction horses. At competitions he rode four year olds to Grand Prix level successfully.
In 2001 Travis joined forces with Olympic and World Champion Nicole Uphoff and ran a barn with her. Training successfully dressage and jumping horses.
In 2007 travis then rode trained and competed for the Irish Olympic team member Jessica Kuerten. During his time with Jessica they travelled to Spain and competed in the five week sunshine tour successfully.
In 2010 Travis had a change of direction and moved to Belgium to take up his ultimate goal of coaching dressage horses and riders along with managing the sport horse side of the business. At the stable Travis and his team prepare many young world class Stallions for the Stallion test to be registered as Breeding Stallions.
In September 2011 Travis has retuned to New Zealand to embark on a new training career.
