Major dressage mentors added to Equidays bill
Distinguished international dressage rider and trainer, Jan Ebeling joins the impressive line-up of clinicians at Equidays. Held at Mystery Creek Events Centre from 18-20 November 2011, Jan Ebeling will be making his way from his Californian training facility for the inaugural equine showcase.
Jan will be implementing his classical training techniques at his Equidays clinics where relaxation, rhythm and connection with the horse are imperative. Jan earned his trainer’s licence under the legendary German master, Herbert Rehbein and has since trained alongside leading dressage riders, Robert Dover, Wolfram Wittig and Harry Boldt. Jan returned to Germany with his horses in 2007 and 2009 for ongoing training.
Jan has actively competed in the sport in the USA and Europe since 1998, with leading the USA team to gold at the 2003 Pan American Games as one of his greatest achievements. Shiwon Green, also holding demonstrations at Equidays, is excited about Jan’s clinics, “Jan has achieved so much in his own riding career and I have heard fantastic things about his teaching and clinics. I look forward to seeing what he brings to our shores.”
Other local dressage trainers and riders who will perform clinics at Equidays include; Andrea Raves, Bill Noble, Jody Hartstone and Travis Morgan. All clinicians are experts in dressage and will be educating visitors on various techniques and training tools to enhance horses and riders. Riders from any discipline can benefit from the principles of dressage and training methods, therefore, these clinics are a must during Equidays.
With a focus on educating all riders from Preliminary to Grand Prix level, there is something for everyone to learn at Equidays. Dressage NZ appreciates the abundance of knowledge there is to be gained at Equidays and is entirely supporting the event. “An educational showcase like Equidays complements other dressage initiatives such as the Pfizer Youth Equestrian Forum and the FEI Regional Dressage Forum. Equidays will assist in broadening the knowledge base of our equestrian community and gives Equestrian Sports NZ and NZ Dressage another opportunity to present its multi-faceted nature to New Zealand riders and horse lovers,” Wendy Hamerton, Dressage NZ Sport Manager.
